1001 Things Everyone Should Know About Science
by James Trefil
This book gives an overview of how the world operates. The information is
presented in a list of "things," ranging in length from a single sentence to
a few paragraphs. Those items are grouped into sections of a few dozen items
that cover specific fields of knowledge such as classical genetics, quantum
optics, and animal reproduction. Within each section there is a logical
progression from first item to last, but the book can also be used by
turning to the general, classical biology, evolution, molecular biology,
classical physical science, modern physical science, earth science, and
astronomy in whatever order suits your purpose. An invaluable text for
anyone, particularly good for home schooling. Illustrated with B&W photos
and drawings.
