Up for auction is the vintage risque figure study magazine The Artist's
Yearbook from the 1920s of 1930s. Contains a mix of b&w photographic, art, &
pinup type figure studies. The pinup style figure studies are not signed but
it would not surprise me if some of the work is uncredited. Some of the
pieces look similar to the work of James Allen St. John (The Fall From Grace
& The Temptation Of Anthony). The titles of some of the other
artistic/pinup-like studies include Siren With Unbound Hair, The Source, The
Spanish Shawl & The Fandango (looks very familiar stylistically), Eve & The
Serpent, Leda Wooed By The Swan, Abduction Of Amymone, Cupid And Psyche
(William Adolphe Bouguereau), Birth Of Venus From The Foam, Pandora, Venus
Rising From The Sea (also Bouguereau), Pond Lillies, The Guardian,
Indolence, The Temptress, The Slave Market, At Auction, The New Model (A
Asti), & more. A total of 64 pages cover to cover. A
beautiful/clean/tight/flat copy in very fine plus (VF+) condition with minor
overall wear, a little wear along the spine, a small front cover spot stain,
& a couple of star/circle stamps on the front cover.
