book of 198 pages is illustrated with diagrams. Book is in dust jacket &

A FIELD GUIDE TO THE STARS AND PLANETS. by Menzel Boston:
Houghton Mifflin 1964. This soft cover book of 397 pages is fully
illustrated. The volume contains 48 Monthly Sky Maps, 54 detailed Atlas
Charts of entire sky, 13 detailed maps of the Moon, indicating feature
names, 25 special tables showing when brightest stars, star clusters,
nebulae, and galaxies are visible. Hundreds photographs of the most
interesting objects in the sky. Tables of double and variable stars and
other useful information for the amateur. Owner name printed on inside

Equipment & Materials(cameras, lenses, telescopes, film, developing,
printing, & copying), plus 5 appendices. In VERY GOOD condition.

ATLAS OF MERCURY NASA SP-423 by Davies, Dwornik, Gault, &
Strom, Washington, D.C.: NASA 1978. Large format(11.25" by 14.25")
hardback, 128 pages, weighs nearly 3 pounds. The volume is a goldmine
of photos and other interesting material that relates to the planet Mercury,
gathered over 25 years ago! Much of this book reveals information
gathered from Mariner 10 and its mission to Venus and Mercury,
becoming the first multiple-planet mission, borrowing energy from the
gravity of Venus to make possible a flight to Mercury which otherwise
would have been impossible. This publication would probably not have
been published but for the Scientific and Technical Information Office of

our knowledge about the universe from a 1955 vantage point. Hoyle
was a strong supporter of the Steady State Model of the universe. In
this book he discussed the continuous creation of matter that was

book of 252 pages is illustrated in color and b/w from photos and
charts. The books a good discussion of our present day knowledge.

New Cosmic Home(Moon, Mars, Venus, etc), Our Sun(Energy
Source, Face of the Sun, Chemical Composition,...), Other Suns(New
