Thought I'd pass along the unhappy news (seen on the Shocklines message
board) that former a.b.g-fer John Brower died last Sunday. Search for
his name in the Google archive of the group; you'll find a set of
consistently thoughtful and interesting posts.

Sad news, indeed. John was always a welcome presence here. I can only
hope that he and rbdac are discussing the merits (or lack thereof) of
Jean Ray and Hans Ewers in the comfortable clubhouse we have reserved
in the hereafter.

No doubt they are having the discussion with Ray and Ewers themselves.

Alas, another fine man gone. I hope we shall know what he knows now.

I checked the online Minneapolis *Star-Tribune* but didn't find
anything there.

Thanks, Philip, for posting the link. I'm sorry to say that I never
knew John, but certainly recall reading his fine posts whilst trawling
the newsgroup archives. In one of life's quirks, I never realized until
reading the obituary that this newsgroup's John Brower was the one and
same John Brower that I once listened to on KFAI Fresh Air Radio in
Minneapolis.

Yrs,

Michael
