Just because there are always fifty million of us, that doesn't mean
we're careless or death-wishful...
....anyway, nobody else in the village is likely to start importing
Oehrwurmbrau or Eau de Forficule - or even Agua de Tijereta (nasty
stuff, best used in an over-the-horizon deployment).

Two problems there:
(1) it's quite hard to get Spandex in camouflage colours;
(2) it makes our chitin itch.

I own a Spandex)tm' factory. Colours should not be a problem and my
resident (mad) scientist has already solved the itching-problem.

Oh, it is, and for two reasons:
(1) a wiggie's terminal velocity is so small, the wiggie himself being
quite small, that he can fall any distance and not be damaged by it;
(2) being insects, we have wings, through we often forget to use them
when we've had one too many trouser stiffeners (which considering the
hazards to aerial navigation in the village is probably a good thing
for all parties).

Do you think we _want_ to be barred from even hanging around outside the
Lundy cadging drinks? It's bad enough that we're not allowed inside.
