Alan Lee LOTR booksigning event

Alan Lee --- talk and booksigning celebrating The Lord of the Rings
Friday, December 10th at 7 pm
at the Park Branch Library (1833 Page Street) in San Francisco.

Alan Lee - acclaimed artist, world-renowned Lord of the Rings
illustrator, and conceptual designer for the film trilogy - will
discuss his long involvement in creating the visual world that
accompanies the books and films based on the works of J.R.R. Tolkien.
Alan Lee will present a slideshow, give a talk, show artwork, and
answer questions; a book signing will follow. Don't miss this very
special event!

Alan Lee will be promoting the forthcoming book, "The Art of The Lord
of the Rings" (hardcover, $35.00 / softcover, $19.95). Many of the
images included in this volume, depicting pivotal scenes and
characters, were previously embargoed and have never appeared in book
form. The work of Alan Lee and John Howe ­ the two artists most
closely associated with Tolkien's world ­ is featured in this new
book, along with that of many other talented artists and designers.
