Hello all,
So, as you know, we are moving, and hence I undertook the (almost
impossible) task of putting each and every book we own in the catalogue
software (Bookpedia for those who want to know).
You scan the barcode or enter the ISBN, and it looks on the net to find
the book. While it works fine as is, the information is first pulled out
of Amazon (cascading from .com to .jp through .co.uk, .de, .fr, and so
on). Nothing unusual here, but after a while, it became... weird !
- Some travel books about England suddenly found themselves under
Esoterica... Huuh, did I know UK was in another dimension ?
- Olivier has book about tanks and / or weapons, that ended up under
"Biology". Nah, that's after you use them, not before.
- Books about Religions in general suddenly lost their authors. Hey,
you, above, stop pulling my leg at once
- Many books by several writers whose first name was Christophe had all
information in capitals, which, on the Internet, is shouting. The French
word for Shouts is Cris... A relation somewhere ???
On the other hand, I noticed at least six books we bought twice because
they had not been listed in our catalogue. And threw away some old
stupid ultra-conservative books that we could not understand how they
came in our bookshelves...
Aphrael, having fun with books ¬_¬
