I don't get 20/20 here so I thought I'd look it up online. Not a transcript,
but they made a sort of interview shape(don't know the word for this type in
english... Mengvorm would be the dutch word for it) with quotes here and
there:

Good interview, but I wished she'd let a editor at her work..she needs
it and it is too egoticial to even recognize that fact.
Take care,
Ashe

For some reason, my attempt to tape it was unsuccessful, so thanks for the
link. Unfortunately they don't really tell us anything new.

Speaking as someone who writes, it is hard to let someone "touch your
baby"... Been doing it for 6 years and it's only gotten a little easier,
getting comments and getting to a point where you actually ask for them. And
that's an understatement. I'm still not good enough to go without an
editor... Thank god for friends who break corrective news gently. Wink Guess
since Anne gets published anyway -and it's not somuch the money as the
getting published, I dare hope- there doesn't seem a big need from her end
to get used to editors... I'm not sure if it's egotistical, could be, but I
can't look into her brain...(would love a peek into it though. Oh, to do an
interview!!!!) It's hard to speculate on someone's reasoning... But I have
to admit sometimes an editor wouldn't be a bad idea. Even if you're a
bestselling author. Most of us are too close to our babies to see the flaws,
which goes for big names and the nobodies like myself.

Be good to yerself:)

I know eh... Had hoped for a little more. Just a hint at the "new turn" in
her writing would've been nice. Though I have a feeling it'll be something
theological. Or maybe even poetry.

Who could guess what she'll be doing next? I'd love to know, although if it
is religious or poetry I'd be disappointed. I love her fiction. I was hoping
that she'd just move on to something other than witches and vampires. Also,
she does seem to have a knack for history. Maybe there's something there.

I think that might be the big point right now... Getting people all curious
and hoping they'll buy Blood Canticle for Christmas for maybe a hint of what
is to come.Wink I still haven't received my copy, it should arrive any day
now. I am very curious, what's next could be just about anything.

I'd love to know, although if it

I think I'd give both of them a try... I don't believe in the biblical god
(I'm pretty sure there's something out there, but I don't know exactly what
to call it), but the stories could be interesting. It's just another take on
history. As for poetry, well, if it's anything like Leonard Cohen's early
work, who knows... Just might enjoy it and get some inspiration for my own.
(Still working on a book of it myself). Truth be told though I like your
(alternative-)history idea... A lot.

I love her fiction. I was hoping

Yes, I think she would be wonderful at big historical fiction novels like
Gore Vidal wrote. Something along that line would use her best talents.
BTW, I guess I always think I'm unique, but I had just told a friend how
discouraged I was with the "supposedly" model slang that Lestat used in BC.
I do have to say that much as I criticized it, I couldn't stop reading after
the first chapter or two, until it was finished. She does still hold me
there with some kind of talent. I was also totally disgusted with the "baby
cakes," etc comments. How would have believed a few yrs ago that it would
have come to this end?
