Does anyone know anything about Denis and Jamyl Arilan's family background?
Recently, I was on (not the first time) the Deryni genealogy website trying to
find the Arilan family, but haven't been able to find it. It's not under
Arilan. Any ideas?

Could be that the Arilan's aren't that important (quickly running for
that secret cave of Carissa's to avoid all those Denis what's his name
fans) so their line hasn't been thought out by Katherine- or at the
lest at the point of time that the Codex was done. Might get some
more information in the next CM book.

Now, now, Jerry- no need to run. We're (mostly) harmless! <EG>

That would be my guess. It hasn't been necessary up till now to really
flesh out the family line, so Katherine simply hasn't. I'm hoping we find
out more in CM, too.

don't have the address handy but you can go in through Deryni.net and
go to the fan links. It is listed there.

Or they could be a prominent Deryni family that could not continue on
openly after the persecutions and had to change to a new moniker- Like
MacRorie to MacAthan, for instance...

M@,

I'll bet that Alice was referring to Rebeca Davis' Deryni Genealogies
web site - <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.mindspring.com/~rebldavis/home.html." target="_blank">http://www.mindspring.com/~rebldavis/home.html.</a>

There are others that deal with bits of Deryni genealogy (or at least
genetics!) as well:
* Kristy Henscheid's cut at Deryni genetics (especially the bit about
the Healer's gene) - <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~khensche/kk.html" target="_blank">http://darkwing.uoregon.edu/~khensche/kk.html</a>

I remember seeing an alternate cut on the genetics of Healing, but I
can't find it. I think that it used to be here -
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://members.aol.com/encsmommy/kkurtz.htm" target="_blank">http://members.aol.com/encsmommy/kkurtz.htm</a> (which no longer works)

Hi,
this is the only geneology page i know of with Deryni family trees on it.
But I think it might not be cannon, as I think some of it came out of the
codex.

Hi all,
I'm not sure what's happening with Rebecca. Last I heard, she had moved and
I think was changing jobs or something. I know she didn't come to Darkover
this year...the first time she's missed Darkover in several years.
As for her genealogy page, I'm pretty sure that was based on Codex, so it's
questionable.
I always wondered if the Arilans were Camber descendants or descendants of
Jesse or someone else we knew in the Camberian era. I know I've asked
Katherine about that but never gotten an answer. Maybe she hasn't decided
herself yet. They obviously have connections to the Camberian Council and
the deCourcy family, so perhaps they're related to them.
Maybe there's a canon genealogy section in the Atlas? Melissa? Ann? Or
can't you tell us?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Alas, nothing has been heard from Rebecca for some time. She had to do some
heavy duty job searching, and had to move back in with her parents when her
land lord jacked up her rent. I don't know where she is, now.

Regarding the Arilans, I suspect we'll find more about them in the next two
Childe Morgan novels.
