I'm new to this group, so I apologize if I make any faux-pas.

I have the following volume:

BILDHEFT NEUZEITLICHER STELLUNGSBAU

It translates roughly as "Illustrated Manual of Modern Field Position
Constructions"
That's not the best translation, but the best one I can come up with. My
German is weak.

It is dated 15.9.42 which is September 15, 1942. It is in rather worn
condition, although it appears that no pages are missing. This is a German
Army field guide straight from World War II with lots of black ink
illustrations. The subject is how to construct various trenches and
fortifications for the German army.

about 420 pages.

Not a faux-pas, really, more a mystifying omission. You give all these
details about the book and then omit to mention why you are posting!

What exactly is it you want to know about this book?

I want to know its value and seek a buyer.

Interesting. ZVAB.com shows nothing for "Bildheft Neuzeitlicher
Stellungsbau", but Addall.com lists two copies of the 1943 English
language translation of the book.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

The English translation was actually published in 1969, but was made from
the 1943 German edition (see, eg., COPAC <a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://tinyurl.com/wuk5" target="_blank">http://tinyurl.com/wuk5</a>). You can
see it, and details of the publishing history of the German original, here:
<a style='text-decoration: underline;' href="http://www.merriam-press.com/mrl_0150/mrl_0142.htm" target="_blank">http://www.merriam-press.com/mrl_0150/mrl_0142.htm</a>

Karlsruhe (http://www.ubka.uni-karlsruhe.de/hylib/en/kvk.html) turned up
only one German language edition (http://tinyurl.com/wukd), dated June 1st,
1944, and held in the Deutsche Buherei (diacritic omitted) at Leipzig. No
copies of the first edition are listed.

I'm sure the OP's copy, which is the first edition, would be of interest to
the right people. What those people might be prepared to pay for it, I
wouldn't care to estimate.

That looks like the book I have, except mine's the original German. I guess
it's just a matter of finding a willing buyer.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
