From visiting my sister and sister in law in Boston. Phew. No one in
Boston (with the possible exception of hoteliers) has an airconditioner,
most likely because no one needs one most of the time, and if we had
gone up at just about any other time this spring it would have been
fine, but last week was a bit hot, at least the last three days. Good
thing there were fans. The kids had a good time, we took them to the
children's museum, and to the beach, and over to the playground with the
sprinklers and the really fun climbing toys (I want the entire thing for
my backyard--fun stuff), and we went to Harvard Square where they have
the best candy store (or so the kids assert) and the kids got so excited
that they were no longer speaking slowly enough to understand, much to
the amusement of several adults who were shopping for sweets.

Glad you made it safely back from Furrin Parts, m'dear. Have a TS and a
small electric fan...

I don't think the Lundy has air-conditioning, but the cellar is wonderfully
cool in hot weather.

There are some lovely rotten barrel-splinters at the back, too. Though
some of them seem to have been soaked in something...
