I write with regard to "Mr Faithful" (certainly not a ghost
story...but what the Hell?), one of Lord Dunsany's better plays - the
story, well, is about an officer who adopts the life of a dog - to
marry the girl of his dreams!!

He barks up all sorts of trees.

Get hold of the play and 'read it' - certainly to day its unlikely
you'll ever see it performed.

Regards

Peter

Oh, you cur, what a howler. That is the worst double entendre I've heard in
some time.

If one shins up a tree and barks one's shin, I'll go out on a limb and say
one is barking up the wrong tree, but I may have twigged wrongly.
