Does anyone know why this book (a biography of William Burroughs' son
Billy) by David ohle was pulled from publication two years ago by
Grove press?

wow, I never heard of this before reading your entry. I see that the
net has a lot of advertising on it. I too wonder why it was pulled, as
u say it was. Publishing is sure a funny game nowadays. The Neal
Cassady Collected Letters has been postponed at least 4 times. Makes u
wonder if we will ever see it. Ann Maxwell Murphy's AFFAIR WITH A
VIPER, her memoir of her life with Cassady remains a mystery as to
being published. Thanks for the tip and please post any data u may
hear on these titles and I will surely do the same.

(1) As a writer of three books and (2) as a collector of books--especially
Beat themes, I've come to realize that there are generational waves of
interest (not rocket science)..the baby boomers (1947-53) are old and the
interest levels have cooled down...althought there is a current rebirth of
interest by the neo-social misfits (who have no money) I would imagine
that publishers look only for proven money makers...the point: If
Burroughs Jr. had been a Civil War guy, football player or a dead
republican the shelves would be stocked to the limit. I wouldn't leave a
space on your shelf for Willy, Jr.

I'll bet that most of the junk on Barnes and Nobles shelves are thrown
into the fire.......................or garbage.....................

First of all, there were THREE William S. Burroughses. The author of Naked Lunch
was WSB II. His son was WSB III. And personally, having read III's two novels, I
found them not half bad. A lot more readable, in fact, than the old man.
