For those that may be interested.
Well we finally made it, yep after two long years we finally made it,
the book "Life With Marilyn" has been completed and has now been
published. What an effort, how many long hours, days, weeks and months
have I put into this? Yes, it was hard for me to get this done, I am not
a writer or author by any means. I never dreamed I could ever do
anything like this. Me write a book? You must be be loco. I have been
told that I am pretty handy at doing and fixing things, that could be
true, I recall when our Jewish friends had a term they would use if you
were a pretty handy guy, they would say you have "Hands of Gold.
Yeah, but these hands write a book!! Come on, forget it, no way!
Anyway, I tried , it's done, it's published, and it's on the market.
Yikes, I look at it now and say.
"Well I'll be damned."

This book is a true story, a story of the sixty two years I spent with
the most wonderful person to have ever set foot on this planet.

You can order directly from the publisher, book stores, and internet book
supply houses.
If you do order, be sure to specify that you want the 2007 issue and not
the one published on November 19, 2006, this was an error release, it
was far from being completed, it does not have the complete story, and
had not been edited yet. I was never informed that this book was live.
I believe it would be best if you order direct from "AuthorHouse" to
avoid any errors.
A Message From Pat Gallant

I had the pleasure of editing the enclosed book for a gentleman, Vincent
T Ciano, who has since been a dear friend -- and someone who I have come
to respect and admire.
Mr. Ciano never penned anything prior to this book, which he wrote in
memory of his beloved wife Marilyn.
Someone cannot suddenly write 69,000 words. There must have been a
writer locked inside this man, trying to escape. Or, perhaps the muse
paid a visit, lo these many years, to jump-start Mr. Ciano. What ever
and whichever the case the words flowed and little by little, these
words turned into the one of the most beautiful and poignant love
stories I have ever read.
I was loathe to change or edit much of any thing Mr. Ciano wrote, so I
didn't. He has his own incredible style -- he writes in a way that makes
the reader feel he or she is with Mr. Ciano, standing by the water,
looking out, just having a chat. The sentences often engagingly run on
and the recounting is delightfully casual. I have attempted to retain
both Mr. Ciano's style and "voice." Every word in this book is Mr
Ciano's. Frankly, when I first read it, I was bowled over. It's a
writers delight to discover real talent. I'm glad i had the privilage to
be the one who made this discovery.
So to any of you who might have stopped believing there is true love out
there -- read on.
Happy Holidays

About The Book
This is a story, a true story of how I met Marilyn when she was at a
very young age: where and how we first met, how we grew up together and,
after a two and a half year courtship, we became man and wife. A good
part of our years was sort of a struggle, but we both were very happy.
Our love for each other made us get through some real tough times.
Marilyn was only fourteen when we first met; I was eighteen.
The early part of our marriage wasn't really that bad, we managed to set
up a cozy little apartment soon after. This was in nineteen forty six
and it was nearing the end of World War II. Housing at that time was
nearly impossible. Servicemen coming home, hardly a place to live,
quonset huts, over-crowded homes. We were real lucky, somehow -- the
whole situation, getting the apartment, and being able to furnish it had
to be a miracle and -- it was here we were blessed with our first child,
a son, Vince (Vinnie) Jr.
The story tells of how I wanted to better myself as a father and
husband, it wasn't easy, and I never did get rich, but we were
comfortable. This all could not have happened if it were not for
Marilyn. I swear to you, she was some kind of woman! Her determination
to help me is what pushed me ahead. She was everything a man would ever
want for his wife.
Time to time she would say to me.
" Remember, I don't want to die in a room all by myself."
Along with.
"And If I should die, I hope and pray you will find a good woman to look
after you."
This was Marilyn, and this is our story.
Preview
I got up the next morning to find Nanon up and fussing in the kitchen.
"Hello Nanon."
"Buona mattina."
Grandma did not speak English but she understood quite a bit.
" Nanon, I brought Marilyn home with me last night."
"Sė, dove sta rimanendo?"
"She's asleep in the front room."
Now Mom and Pop were up, good, I won't have to go through this three
times.
"Marilyn wanted to come back to New York, she was very lonely and wanted
to be closer to me, there isn't anything for her to do living upstate,
she doesn't drive or have a car, she needs people to have around and to
talk to, she knew when she first moved that she would't like it. She's
just not the type to sit around all day and knit or watch TV she has
been very lonely, so she decided to come back."
"Oooh, what did her mother say, Vincie?"
That's what my mother used to call me, "Vincie."
"She didn't run away did she and where is she going to stay? She can't
stay here, what will people say?"
"No Ma, no, you always look at the bad side of things, no she didn't run
away, and her mother said it was OK, and I don't care what people will
think or say."
God forbid you should be living in the same house without being married,
wow what a disgrace!
"As far as where she will stay, we discussed this on the way down, we'll
look for a place for her, a rooming house or maybe go live with brother
Tom and his wife Irene again, they didn't mind having Marilyn stay there
at graduation time. We could also help them with their kids."
I believe my mother, along with Marilyn's, didn't care too much about
all of this. My mother, like most Italian mothers, think no woman is
good enough to be the wife of one of her sons, more so if she were not
Italian.
But that changed pretty quickly after we were married.
"What a smart and beautiful girl my son went and married. God bless!
"
She would say.
But when I first told her about Marilyn --
"Oh, she's not Italian?"
"No Ma, she's not Italian."
