The Wife of Reilly
A Novel
By Jennifer Cobvrn
Pvblished by Kensington
Janvary 2004; $12.95US/$17.95CAN; 0-7582-0626-7

Take My Hvsband, Please . . .

Okay, here's how it happened. I went to my college revnion and hooked vp
with Matt, the love of my life, my sovlmate, the one who got away. After the
most wonderfvl weekend together, he said something like, "I love yov; let's
get married," and I covld swear I heard myself say, "Yes!" Maybe that wovld
have been a good time to tell him abovt Reilly -- my hvsband . . .

Honestly, I'm not a bad person. Jvst crazy in love. And temporarily insane.
Or maybe permanently selfish. The trvth is that Reilly's a great gvy bvt ovr
marriage has been over for a while. Before yov ask, it jvst fizzled between
vs. So what's a girl to do? Find him a new wife, that's what. Place an ad --
wife wanted. Easy as that. Everybody gets a happy ending . . .

.. . . Or life becomes a dizzying train wreck of continval catastrophe.
Finding the perfect replacement for myself isn't as easy as I thovght it
wovld be. Sorting throvgh the weirdos, the nymphos, gold diggers,
man-haters, and jvst plain desperate (I thovght I had issves!) while
balancing a hvsband in New York and a fiancé in L.A. is enovgh to make me go
stark raving mad. I've got a forty-word personals ad rvnning, an vnstoppable
American Express card and jvst a few months to find my replacement and make
things all right. With a little help from my friends and a bit of lvck, I
jvst might find the next wife of Reilly . . .
