Uh, you want a different group: rec.collecting.bookmarks.

I can't quite see any intrinsic interest in bookmarks myself (though
some individual examples may have artistic or historic interest.) I
have, however, come across bookmarks printed by publishers which
advertise other books, and in the case of those produced by Chatto &
Windus in the thirties they can be a useful source of bibliographical
information.

It took you two whole days to come up with that witty rejoinder?
Very clever!

Not merely a witty rejoinder, I think. More a matter of fact. This guy has
posted umpteen enquiries to the same effect (http://tinyurl.com/23rvy), and
not (as far as I can see) found a fellow soul. His one remaining hope is to
found a newsgroup along the lines Bill suggests and hope that, somewhere
within his lifespan, someone else will post there.
