Here I am again with some more humble mini-reviews:

Dread - loved it! Horrible imagery, rather sadistic even. Very strange
ending though; almost like the future had been foretold, then the story went
from pure horror to surreal fantasy. Boy, did the bastard get what he
deserved though!

Hell's Event - loved it too! Very strange premise for a story but I though
it worked well. Not much gore this time around, apart from at the end. Oh
and I loved the description of Hell's "sunless unbegotten face" ... or words
to that effect! Very nice tale indeed.

Jaqeline Ess - holy cow, this really was brutal; sick on a whole new level.
A real story for the feminists amongst you Wink I still think of the
descriptions even now - oh yes - they still haunt me. A very sad ending
though, but I guess any other kind was of out of the question. Boy, the
women in the story was one I would never be sexist too Razz

The Skins of the Fathers - liked the ending a lot and still I think of the
fate of those poor people. I also liked the descriptions of the monsters and
the depiction of the idiotic/brave sheriff. However, I'm sorry to say that I
just didn't think the story had that "Wow!" factor that the others had...

New Murders in the Rue Morgue - it really will help you if you've read Poe's
'prequel' prior to this story. I didn't because I didn't know one existed
and I think the story suffered a little from it. Having said that, I still
liked it, particularly the very vivid descriptions it encompassed. A fun,
weird little story that, at times, borders on comic ... certainly not
horror.

I'm so looking forward to reading these again. It's been so long, I don't
remember most of what happens in them, just my reactions.

But Imajica awaits ...<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
