I read Something of value, mistakenly thinking it would be similar to " The
old man and the boy". I was glad I made the "Mistake" While I had always
believed myself to be fairly well informed / read as far as history went, I
had never known about the Mau-Mau uprisings until then The atrocities they
committed were well chronicled in his work and the book went a long way
towards better informing me of an event that I might otherwise have never
known about.
As far as the good words on your writing, I am sure the monetary payments
take care of the bills, but in the world I live in, sometimes a simple
thanks for the good work is worth even more than the money. To be able to
bring forth a idea and transform it into a vision that others can share via
the written word is something that I both admire and , thanks to you ( and
many other excellent writers ) get to enjoy as often as my wallet allows. I
look forward to your coming works.
