I will be in Boston next week for a day. Would appreciate any
suggestions of bookstores that I should visit.

My interests are crime fiction, science fiction.

Thanks in Advance

Dave

Hi Dave,

Here's the website you should check out: http://www.mariab.org/

I have a print of the directory and it has index by book types. I suspect
you can get the same info from the web site. If not, let me know and I'll
type it in.

The book store I like in Boston is: Brattle Book Shop for general used books
priced inexpensively, though I haven't been in Boston for years since I find
driving there a real hassle.

Good luck

Jeff

Try Peter Stern. Many rare first editions, including crime fiction. Can be
expensive, but you'll find some beautiful books.

On the more reasonably price end of things, try Spenser Books--great
selection of used mysteries. Also just up the street, Avenue Victor
Hugo--general selection, but strong in mystery.

Over in Cambridge, try Kate's Mystery Books--new and used, and a very nice
lady.

I'm pretty sure that both Avenue Victor Hugo and Spensers have closed
their doors....

You are correct Avenue Victor Hugo is closed as a B&M store and only
on the net.

and Spenser's closed last fall.

I haven't been to Boston in a couple of years. Those were two of my
favorite places. Too bad. Thanks for the information.
