Stephan Martiniere did the cover art for "Ringworld's Children". While browsing
his site, I found something odd.

http://www.martiniere.com/gallery6.html

On that page is a link to http://www.martiniere.com/arlequin.htm which has a
caption of "Larry NIVEN - BUILDING ARLEQUIN"

Did I miss something? Google doesn't seem to know, nor does Amazon.

Never heard of it. Awfully nice illustration, though. Did you send him
an email?

From the Niven site, works in progress.
"Saving Harlequin's Moon (formerly known as "Creation Myth")
About terraforming. Co-authored with Brenda Cooper. This is now completed -
no release information currently available, but it will be published by
Tor."

  Who is Brenda Cooper?

Is this the first time Niven has co-authored with a woman?

No. It's not even the first time he has co-authored with Brenda
Cooper, according to Brenda Cooper's web site.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

  Ah, thanks.

That's a practically Andersonian publication rate there. Shame
it's all short material, which means so far I haven't read it. Must go
dibs the novel now....

Clarification: I am refering to Poul here, not Kevin J.

 >it's all short material, which means so far I haven't read it. Must go
 >dibs the novel now....

And in an example of Its A Small World, that's one of the
manuscripts I was already going to get* this week from work. Yay me!

    James Nicoll

* I work for Bookspan, reading and reviewing F, SF and Mystery so I see
a lot of material half a year before publication. I only add this because
in my experience saying I have manuscript X without explaining how I got
it legally can result in nasty letters.

Wow. I'd say that was a dream job, except you have to read the bad SF too. But
it'd still be a great job...

Sorry, I already sent out a nasty letter to you. Wink

First thing I thought of when I saw the picture was the robot troop carriers
in Star Wars 1: The Phantom Menace.

Anybody else see the similarity or is my memory failing?

Well, I am about half-way through.

How about this? If it's bad, I just won't say anything about
reading it, in the hope you all will forget I have it and if it's good,
I'll suddenly post an offer to do a spoiler-free review at about 9:21 pm
my time.

Any problems with a spoiler-free review some time tomorrow?
