Tuesday, February 27 at 7:00 pm
at The Booksmith (1644 Haight Street in San Francisco)
"Un Lun Dun" (hardback, $17.95) is the much-anticipated new novel from
China Mieville. Part "Alice in Wonderland," part "The Phantom
Tollbooth," this new fantasy takes readers into the life of a twelve-
year-old girl who finds her way into a funhouse version of her home
city - a place of animated umbrellas and trash monsters, as well as
killer giraffes, ghost children, talking books, and flying double-
decker buses.
China Mieville, the award-winning master of dark, literary fantasy, is
well-known for his intricate prose and extraordinarily dense novels.
He is the author of "King Rat"; "Perdido Street Station," which won
the Arthur C. Clarke Award and the British Fantasy Award; "The Scar,"
which won the Locus Award and the British Fantasy Award; "Iron
Council," which won the Locus Award and the Arthur C. Clarke Award;
and a collection of short stories, "Looking for Jake."
Mieville - who lives and works in London - will be making his fourth
appearance at The Booksmith. Don't miss this special event.
This Booksmith sponsored event will take place at The Booksmith (1644
