Cable/Deadpool #1 - CDP #1 First Look is up at Check it out. -- fabian

deadpool/cable mini-series - Am i the only person who thinks this series is a waste of time and space? Its poorly written and the concept is a joke. I wouldn't be surprised that when the series is over that is powers will be disolved. For some odd reason i like Cable..

Cable's eyes - I just noticed this. The cover of X-Force #1 (2004). Cable's left eye is has scars around it: A page from X-Force #2 (2004). Now it's the right eye..

Cable/Deapool #1 - I'm in favor of it. Slick dialogue, slick art, fun action. It's two orders of slick with a side of fun. Some notes -The first page is a better cover than the actual cover. I know, bless the man that created C&D, but it's a to Brooks & Law..

Ultimate X-Men : Cable - S P O I L E R W A R N I N G Okay someone explain to me why Cable is um Logan? That seems rather stupid. I mean okay mabye a grumpy old Logan coming back but he looks just like Nathan but is Logan.

Too bad the events in this title won't reverberate through the other
X-titles and even other MU titles (when it is appropriate). As much as
the word 'crossover' is considered a 4-letter expletive, this would
have been a fun event with other X-titles. To be honest, I do miss a
good massive story event once and awhile....

Like that Unreachable Stars guy asked....Will this title graduate from
a satellite book. Hell, will it even last past the next arc?
On an unrelated P.S. -------> Buy Madrox!

It has NOT! It's safe until #18, and it'll be **at least** three months
before they make a decision beyond that.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

Actually, I'm glad it didn't cross into other books. Fabian has this
particular style that other writers just aren't going to bring in a
crossover. Deadpool needs to be handled in a special way and I'm not
convinced all writers can or will do it.

Oh, I hope so. Are sales really so bad? This book is a highlight of my
reading. It's extremely entertaining.

--having read "The Burnt Offering", I think it could have made for a nice
linewide crossover. I have to admit I'm still a sucker for seeing the various
heroes in a comics-verse interacting on an epic scale. Given the nature of the
story, it would have been a crossover that actually had a deeper story than
"let's get a bunch of heroes together".

Any hints as to what you have planned in the next few arcs?

Seeing other MU characters like the Surfer, Fury, & the X-men react to
Cable add some perspective and legitimate magnitude to the events in
the book. I mean, did anyone really think it was a big deal when
Magneto ripped NYC apart when no one other than Morrison's X-men
responded? Like it or not, the X-men are an important part of the MU
and to not include non-X character reactions with certain 'large scale'
events doesn't seem right. Although on the flipside, one could easily
get bogged down by including other MU characters....Sheesh, maybe being
a comic book writer isn't all beer and skittles after all....

Considering I handed the script in to #13 this week and am working on #14 next
week, you would think wrong.

We have a greenlight to #18 and then we'll see from there.

Of course, if declared reader enjoyment and fun were the barometers, we'd be
golden for a hundred issue run...

Well, you got to see the X-Men turn up in this book. Would it really
have gained anything by crossing over into X-MEN and having half of it
written by Chuck Austen?

It goes without saying that you'd have little to gain by having
Austin's spin. But if there were smart editorial decisons in choosing
the best mix of titles and writers to include in a crossover, how could
you lose? A natural crossover in my mind could be...

-District X and Madrox,
-Cable/Deadpool and Domino (before it gets canned).
-Cable/Deadpool and a Weapon X mini
-what else?

Many of these titles already have the other title character popping in
from time to time. Why not extend it to the guest character's title to
add some depth to the story? I'm sure these writers can play well with
others...

No kidding. I thoroughly enjoy every issue. I love the way Deadpool
and Cable play off against one another. It's a really entertaining book
and I certainly push it anytime says there are no fun books anymore.<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

In fact, I always felt this was one of the main flaws with these types
of crossovers. You end up with characters who are inconsistent from
issue to issue and a bunch of half-hearted chapters that none of the
writers really care about because it wasn't their idea. And this
doesn't even include the way it can sometimes change the entire tone of
the book during the crossovers (such as Doctor Strange being completely
subverted during Infinity Whatever crossovers).<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
