Thanks. Shadowville always crows about being the last to fall, there
are even historical marker signs in the area where the battle took
place, and whatnot.

Did anyone *ever* expect to *win* in Viet Nam?
In the months before the Tet, hauntingly similar to the present
situation, I listened to adults playing poker with my father who talked
like they did, but, again, like now, it rang like American bravado...
as it could have very possibly sounded in Alabama and Texas in
1860-something.
