Wow, Kat & Jesse are on top of things this year--their card arrived in
my mailbox today. I haven't even started THINKING about cards yet!

Wow. I'm impressed.

I have my cards. They are in the room with me. That's as far as I've
gottn... and it is probably a bad sign that the box of holiday cards is
already buried under a textbook and a couple articles on the use of
computer gaming in education.

I've had cards from both Dave and Purrt. My cards are in production
right now, being once again Original Artworks by the Little (well -
not so little, as Athena is now within a half-inch of my height!)

I figured I'd get the out of country ones done right away so as to
beat the rush.

The in-country ones will take a little longer. <g>

are ticklish (which certainly falls under 'Treachery').

We have not even started family cards, much less friends. I do promise
they will come during *A* holiday season.

Jesse had the flu a week and a half ago, and I had a whole long boring
evening with nothing to do, so I did Christmas cards. *G* We'd bought
them right after Halloween, when we were out trying to get things bought
before the rush. I walked them out to the mailbox Friday. The
International ones haven't gone out yet, though. Probably this week, if
Jesse gets a chance to stop at the post office on his way to or from work.

I actually ran out of cards this year and already had to break out
extras I had from last year. I know I'll do more of this because there
are always a couple people who send cards to us that I haven't sent to.

I've started my shopping, but that's about it. I *started* last Spring,
in fact, when I bought my god daughter's present along with her birthday
present. I've gotten Jesse's main present, and my dad done, with an
Amazon shopping cart full of probable presents for half the list, as
well as Jesse's stocking stuffers. Still a ways to go. I only have
another week to get my family's done, as we're visiting them in about 10
days. But I have an extra week to get Jesse's family done, as we're
visiting them for New Year's. The fact that I'm only 1/3 done with my
family while 3/5 dome with his is a slight problem. LOL Ah well, we'll
have time to shop in Ohio, where things are cheaper anyway.

For Junior Goddess, the answer to that one is EVERYWHERE! You don't
even have to touch her to put her into helpless giggles. She's the
only kid I know who can tickle herself and start giggling.

For Senior Goddess, the answer is NOWHERE! Like me, she's trained
herself out of being ticklish (or at least, trained herself not to
react to being tickled which is not quite the same thing). Just
another example of how different my girls are.

>We have not even started family cards, much less friends. I do promise

I get the girls to make up cards for everyone - family and friends
alike. They enjoy the exercise and it makes for some interestingly
unique cards. All I need to do now is to take a good photo of the
pair of them (possibly with Mischief, the 8 month old Turkish Van
kitten who is the newest member of the family) and I'll be good to
start writing them up.

I'm amazing myself at how organised I am this year. I have 100% of
Christmas Shopping done for one Goddess, 90% of it done for the other
and everything planned out, if not yet purchased, for Himself. Since
these are all I buy for (Himself buys for his family and I give money
to my nieces and nephews) I'm almost done and it's not yet the end of
November. Scary thought!

And I am, indeed, scared!

(I got Dad his gift already. But since that is a magazine renewal, and the
exact same gift I got him last year and the year before -- he likes the
magazine -- that's not much of an Xmas accomplishment.)

You can get postage rates from usps.gov if that's the issue. Stamps in the
exact right denominations are harder. :> I usually wind up donating 30
cents or so to the Post Office each December, overpaying postage just to
save myself a trip to the Office Of Very Long Lines.

But you got Aladdin stamps!! When were they selling Aladdin stamps?

I seem to have completely missed the large majority of spiffy stamps this
year. Aladdin? I didn't even realize...

Oh, well. I did get nice stamps for the holiday cards.

That's just the thing, I hate to donate extra money to the USPS. And I
don't send enough international cards to want to buy 20 of them. LOL I
need 1 for Canada and 6 for everywhere else. But you don't have to stand
in line- the machines in the lobby will print out the exact postage on
it for you, and they are open 24/7. It's just a matter of stopping there.

The Alladin stamps are part of the 3rd (IIRC) Art of Disney series. I
think they came out this fall, but it might have been summer. The post
office rarely has the stamps I want when I want them, so I order
directly from usps.com. They only charge $1 extra per order for
handling, which I consider exceptionally reasonable. The bulk of the
cards had the pretty Arctic lights stamps, but I'd only gotten 2 books
of those, so everyone at the end of the alphabet got the Disney stamps.
*G* They really are pretty- Alladin, Sorcerer Mickey, Dumbo, and Peter Pan.

Maybe in your posh, urban post office the machine can print stamps. I'm in
the remote, barren, lonely wilderness (yes, I exaggerate), and we only have
the vending machines of pre-printed books of stamps.

Although, hmmm. Looking like a leeeeeeetle more than 30 cents wasted if I
don't visit the post office. Maybe I can make it to the PO before closing
time tomorrow.

I completely missed the Disney stamps. I could have gotten some for the
kiddies I get gifts for. Oh, well. Most of them are too young to notice
stamps anyway.

I missed the Northern Lights stamps, too. :>

(Duuuuuuude! The guy on the HGTV show built a Hobbit house in his back
yard! With little round doors and a little wicker fence and little flower
patches and everything! That's so cool!)

I am very boring for international postage. I take them in to the
office and print postage off the meter. (Nice to work for one's self.)
