I like this artist better than the regular artist (Ryan). At least
everyone looks realistic and not cartoony.

Though limited in a coupl of areas (diversity of facial type etc)I
prefer Mike Ryan's stylized version of the characters to Pagulayan's
pencils which to me don't look fully developed stylewise yet. I'm
interested to see how Pagulayan develops in the future.
Also wondering what happened to Carlo Barbieri?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->

I think Carlo Pagulayan is Marvel's new Joe Bennett (now that Joe's
exclusive to DC) - the reliable go-to guy for fill-ins and low-profile
ongoing/mini series.

Oddly enough I felt similarly about Joe Bennett's early work as I do
about Pagulayan's current work. It wasnt until Bennett did most of an
arc on Elektra that I took notice of his style (it helped that the plot
involved a new character I loved immediately...Drake) and then his run
on Black Panther and the Crew knocked my socks off.
Ironically Pagulayan did the other issues of the aforementioned Elektra
arc.

Where did all those mutants come from? - I don't know if it has been mentioned on-panel, but I had an idea why there are so many mutants running around. Many people's mutation was triggered when the High Evolutionary deactivated and reactivated the X-Gene. That would mean that the majority of....

New X-Mutants - I've been buying up old issues of New X-Mutants and I urge everyone to do the same. The first half of it's short run has admittedly dodgy art but the great story more then makes up for it. Then they found someone new who basically, is pretty much the bes...

New Mutants / Academy X - Will the Academy X series simply be a continuation of the current New Mutants series or will it be significantly different? What's the last slated issue for New Mutants--will there be enough issues to complete the "Ties That Bind" story arc?

New Mutants rewrite? - I've seen a lot of references to the latest arc in New Mutants being rewritten to delete a suicide, but I obviously missed this story when it broke. Details? -SB

New X-Men (Academy X)/New Mutants? - Anyone hear how much of the focus will be on the students as opposed to Danielle, Rahne,Shan etc as instructors at Xaviers? The last volume of New Mutants put the old class front and center but that last issue might have been a wrap up for their story..
