Cool. One of my favorite poems - rather captures the squalor and
commoner element - but also speaks in a completely honest and raw tone
of why he himself was there. I believe that's one of the reasons many
academics cringe at the very mention of his name - as he could relate
with people, where their /work/ was largely only understood by fellow
academics and such. Sort of along the lines of "Stand-Up Poetry,"
that. There was an interesting article in a recent issue of
Poets&Writers magazine if you've not heard too much about it ...
March/April IIRC.
*** "Stand-Up Poetry"? I haven't heard anything about it, but sounds
like it might be very similar to what I've been doing for years on the
stage. I'll do a Google Search and see what comes up... thanks again,
