This antiquarian book is called Charles Francis Donnelly: A Memoir.
The subtitle is: with an account of the hearings on a bill for the
inspection of private schools in Massachusetts in 1888-1889. The book
was written by Katherine E. Conway and Mabel Ward Cameron. Published
"for private distribution" by James T. White & Co., New York, 1909.
There is an introduction by Amy Collins Donnelly, Charles Donnelly's
widow.
Charles Francis Donnelly was an Irish-American Catholic lawyer who
successfully argued before the Massachusetts legislature in 1888-1889
for the right of Catholics to maintain private parochial schools in
Massachusetts. This 265-page volume is a complete biography.
The book is in very good condition. Pages are clean and none are loose
or missing. Spine and covers are intact and undamaged. The title is
embossed in gilt on the front cover and spine. The book measures 9 x 6
x 1 inch.
