In my on-going list of amusing/silly thing available for pets in These
Decadent Modern Times, I found canned doggie dessert in the pet store. So,
of course, I bought one of the itty-bittiest cans of food I've ever
purchased, so my dog can have a doggie dessert for Xmas. (Besides, that
is, what he will get from our dinner plates.)

Oz dollars aren't that far behind US ones ATM. According to
http://XE.com that would be 39.2413 USD at the current exchange rate
of $AU1 = $US0.872026

A couple of weeks ago, the Oz dollar was above 90 US cents!

Whoops. The US dollar is slip, slip, slipping... How the mighty have
fallen. Teetered, anyway.

Perhaps we will thereby learn humility. (Errr. Unlikely!)

I got John's card today. Less than a week to come all the way from
Australia. Modern transportation still surprises me, sometimes.

Razz
I've received from Dave, John, Kat & Jesse and the ghatta.
One of these days I'll get enough energy to send mine.

'wyrm (where we're supposed to get 6-10 inches of snow today -- topped
off with sleet/ice. Oh, goody.)

Do what I do -- take the cards in bits. I spent time addressing a few
envelopes every night (unless, of course, there was Real Work to do -- a
homework assignment I gave a few weeks ago, thinking I knew the solutions,
went whacky on the students, so I had to try to accomplish in a couple
evenings of frantic work what took them weeks of procrastination to fall
behind on).

Now I'm at the stage of signing and sealing a few envelopes every evening.
A little bit of holiday cheer to end the day on.

I have received the same; and today we actually bought the cards!

I guess I am lucky, we only have 2 to 5 inches predicted with freezing
rain (4AM Sunday to 7AM Monday). I am double lucky actually, I will be
two days working at the sewage treatment plant getting samples outside
in the wonderful weather.

SO...... I shouldn't go on about the downpours, the 95% humidity, and
how said humidity makes the mid-to-upper-80s feel like upper-90s?

I suppose the cold might keep the odors less... less odiferous. And the
rain... errr... might help you stay clean while taking samples at the plant?

Even my talent for silver-lining-hunting is having trouble with that job.

Given a choice between very hot versus very cold weather, I prefer the
cold. As I have said before, with cold you can put on more layers; with
hot you can only take off so many layers before people point and laugh.
