I see there is a copy of the Codex up for bid on ebay, starting price
$1,995.00. Is this the going rate for the Codex? I know it's a
limited edition book, but this price seems rather extraordinary to me.
I do have my own copy, and from time to time have considered selling
it, but never thought it would fetch a price anywhere near the ebay
figure. Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

I think one went for $2500 or something like that. I don't know if the last
few sold at high prices though.

The one on ebay now is a bit odd - why would someone buy it but never take
the plastic off it? It seems like a book for fans, not for collectors, and
every fan I know had the plastic off the book before they got it into the
house.

I agree with you there Marion. Although I have not read it from cover to cover
as many did I have referred to it. Even if I did not ever really read it I
would have done so to make certain it was in good condition, remember, there
WERE several copies with missing and repeated pages and such that had to be
replaced.

Actually the final price on ebay for a codex was closer to $3000!

I have a brand new Codex on Ebay now, still in original shrinkwrap, for
much less than the previous $3k.
