The farmland had no hidden language, no sinister depth. The sun
revealed everything to those who were basking in the Sun. Pigs were
on their sides grazing and leisuring while men in the farmland who
were supposed to cultivate the land were hard at work. Jim West
enjoyed the harmony that existed here. He would not go to the city
and its ill chemicals. He found himself opposed to the rest of the
world out there and the city Cancer. Those in the city who were
amongst the city Cancer used the Cancer as stepping stones. Jim felt
baptised every moment he was in the farmland. And when the pigs were
full-grown, those that he called by name he would not slaughter.
Those who were anonymous he would take to the place where he would
make sausages out of them. And the family prayed as they ate the
food. Jim rustled his son's head as his son was growing. His son
didn't respond to his rustlings but had a secure feeling about it.
Ducks could be heard in the background. An independent researcher and
scientist who wrote journals for his University wanted some of the
farmlife so he could study them.. Jim was skeptical since this man
practiced junk science. The scientist had a crich on his back and he
used instruments to study the innards of the creatures on the farm.
He would weigh them and put them through tons of tests. The rats
suffered pangs of fear and the researcher was hard at work, in which
he had deadlines. Recently, his wife burned some of his papers which
had data on the response of rats to glucose. His wife was upset since
he paid no heed to her and as such she took measures to rub against
his ecstasy on the table performing operations like this in the name
of science. Jim gave 3 geese to the man and he took off with the
geese in one large brown sack. Jim kept the money for rainy days. He
looked at the horizon and wanted to move in the city. He imagined
pride to fatten you up and make sin stick on to you like scabs. He
took his family into the van after 3 months of hard work on the land,
having sold the farmland to another man, and pursued into the city
heat where on the horizon was a blur as though it captured meltdown
and industry like they were parts of Hell.. But he was enchanted by
the city he was entering. And his values formed iron in his
bloodstream..
