I have two trade paperbacks of this book, but they are in different
sizes, and I'm trying to figure out why.
Both say "A Bantam Trade paperback", have identical front and back
covers, have ISBN 0-553-37468-0 and UPC 9-970553-374681-0, and have the
ISBN/UPC/price block on the back..
The smaller one is 5.50"x8.625", and has a crease line imprinted on the
fron and back covers and a slightly grayer tinge. The first two pages
are blank, then comes the page saying "Love & Sleep" and on the reverse
side a list of other books by Crowley.
The larger is 6"x9", and has no crease lines, a slightly bluer tinge,
and a "US $12.95, Canada $12.95" price block at the bottom of the spine.
The first page says "Love & Sleep"; the second (reverse side) has a
list of other books by Crowley.
The cover stock on the smaller one feels *slightly* thicker.
The copyright pages don't contradict each other, but (for example):
The printing line in the smaller one says "BVG 0 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1",
while in the larger it says "BVG 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1"
The smaller one has more complete LoC information; the larger one has
more complete Bantam publishing data.

I don't know if this info will help, but here goes anyhow. I have a
review copy of Crowley's "Love & Sleep" first edition trade paperback, and
it's pretty much like the larger edition you describe (6" x 9"). One
difference is my copy lists the price(s) at $12.95 US and $17.95 Canadian on
the back cover. My copy states, "Bantam trade paperback/September 1995"
under publishing history.
The previous Crowley books my copy mentions are "Three Novels," "Little,
Big" and "Aegypt." Is that what both of your copies say, or are other titles
listed?
I received this copy directly from the publisher in 1995, so I have to
believe it's the first trade paperback edition. I hope someone can explain
the smaller sized copy.
