Post subject: Question on DS9 Unity
Archived from groups: alt>startrek>books (more info?)

I just bought this book at a store recently and it's starts out with
this large "linear time" prologue detailing events that have happened
before the novel takes place. I know this is a silly question, but
I'm guessing that the events described all take place in previous DS9
books set after the tv series. Am I right? For instance, one entry
about Garak sending Dr Bashir an auto-biographical message I'm
guessing is describing the events of in A Stich In Time.

Speaking of the books after the series, one thing I really don't get
(and this is a bit off topic I know) is why the DS9 writer felt the
need to split up the "team" at the end of the series to begin with. I
mean, did they not think DS9 worthy of a movie or two? (Course,
seeing how the bungled the last TNG movie, maybe it's best they
didn't...)

My understanding is that there were a couple of doors left open for a
possible film, but that there has never been any serious consideration
given to actually doing one.

I'm sorry about that, as DS9 turns out (especially in retrospect) to
have been the strongest of the Trek series in many ways.
