I remember before that SK said that one story in skeleton crew had ties to
the Dark Tower series. I guess theres no doubt that he was refering to the
mist now due to the DT painting. So where do you think the mist fits into
the Dark tower Mythology? I think that the arrowhead project created the
first "thinny" the monsters in the mist were from "todash darkness".

This passage from THE MIST has some familiar DARK TOWER imagery in it:
