I have this VERY strange feeling that it's been out of print for a
while. (Internet Book List information)

This is one of those ones where I'm not sure if I've read it or not,
as all of his early sci-fi are very similar. I'm not a big fan sci-fi
anyway, so I don't really rate these at all. The earliest Koontz that
I loved was HANGING ON. DRAGONFLY isn't bad either, and he sort of
based bits of FALSE MEMORY on it.
I think I would steer clear of the early sci-fi unless you're either a
collector or a real fan of authorial juvenilia.

I though 'A Werewolf Among Us' was interesting.
I'm trying to get a copy of 'Hanging On' hear that really funny.

I have most of the early koontz scifi books, but I have not read any of
them yet. I would be intersested to know what others say about them. I
know that koontz himself is not happy with them. the only one that he
had reprinted was invasion (renamed winter moon) . winter moon is the
only koontz book that I did not really care for. I will get to reading
them eventually, when I do I will post my opinion of them.

Cool thanks - I'd love a review of them.
It's interesting to see how he matured as a writer but from what I've read
the ideology of Koontz is much the same.

Shawn, Demon Seed was a reprint, as were Chase, Shattered, Face of Fear, Voice of the Night, The Mask, The Funhouse, Icebound, Door to December, Key to Midnight, Eyes of Darkness, House of Thunder, Servants of Twilight, and Shadowfires. >> Stay informed about: A Darkness in my soul |

when I was talking about reprints I meant his old scifi books from the
70's . if you look at his list of novels in any of his books you wont
see them listed. he obtained the copyrights to them so they would not
be reprinted. I know many of his books were reprinted, but there are
over 30 of them that were not. >> Stay informed about: A Darkness in my soul |

I think he was talking about the old scifi reprints, of which you'd
obviously have to include DEMON SEED.

I read this book and then got the audio version. I enjoyed it that
well. Just remember never lie to the dog.

I've only read Demon Seed and Beastchild, which at the time I thought
were okay but unremarkable. And I didn't run out looking for more
books by him either. But I remember thinking the latter book kind of
reminded me of a Silverberg juvenile.
