I wonder if they ever considered casting David Rasche as Mr. Clark?
He's not as big a Hollywood "name" as some of the actors they have had
in the films, but he has one quality which I feel would make him
extremely effecive. He can play over the top or subdued, buddy buddy or
chilling, and go from one to the other or back and forth between them
with a speed and fluidity few can match. While he made audiences laugh
in some roles, he also had a very creepy one in "Divine Secrets of the
Ya Ya Sisterhood," and in his most notable TV role, in "Sledge Hammer!"
he played a police officer who went between drama and over the top
comedy with fluidity, sometimes back and forth several times in the
same scene.

Seeing him play a straight guy, or use the charm as Clark trying to
scout a person out could be pretty cool.

the only problem is for the one appearance of Clark most of us want to
see (Without Remorse) Rasche is too old though I could tolerate a
slight modernizing of WR, (making 'nam the gulf)
