Sounds lovely! I've become the world's cheapest drunk because of my medications. One glass of wine and I'm pleasantly mellow and at peace with the world. It made have a flight of Irish whiskey an interesting experience on our recent vacation. I gave husband and son sips and still was nice and relaxed. It was called "the quiet American" flight and had two of the same brand a twelve year and an eighteen year if I remember correctly and the third was Tullamore Dew. A little "googling" produced what I think was the name of the first whiskey, Connemara. All were very nice, with varying amounts of smokiness. They also had shepherd's pie on the menu. made with "real shep" as my daughter-in-law put it---very tasty but the portion was large enough to serve two people.
So small champagne bottles sound great. Enough to enjoy without having to worry about the lovely stuff going flat.

My thought exactly.
My mother in law turned up with a three-quarters full bottle of whisky on
Sunday. She'd been clearing out something she shouldn't have been trying
to reach and come across the Glenmorangie my father in law had hidden. It
was the one they only sell at the distillery itself and he obviously
wasn't planning on sharing it unless forced. Obviously no one has dusted
on the top of the dining-room wall unit since he died. So, it's ours now.
Nice and warming for when the snow comes again.
I'm thinking of having a small party, somewhere between Xmas and New Year
- I wonder if I can bring myself to do it? >> Stay informed about: 9 December - birthday information |

We need to do something of the same, but since I've just caught the plague energies are flagging. Somehow we shall cope. >> Stay informed about: 9 December - birthday information |

I really just want to try out some new alcoholic fruit tarts. Seems like
a good time to experiment. >> Stay informed about: 9 December - birthday information |

Perhaps you'd like to sample this Christmas Crumble? Purely in the spirit
of scientific enquiry of course. It has fruit, and alcohol, and dried
fruit (soaked overnight in alcohol so it's not really dry at all, sort of
plump and juicy and oozing amaretto), and there's cinnamon to make it
xmassy.

I've been tidying up the spice cupboard. How do you feel about old
cinnamon sticks. They're organic, though not actually decaying I don't
think. >> Stay informed about: 9 December - birthday information |

if they don't agree with us we'll give the rest to the firedrake (when
he wakes up) for mulling wine.

As opposed to an actor/writer/comedian complaining about the age of the
cinnamon sticks; Whining Mull [1]
