Post subject: A Definite Brag
Archived from groups: rec>collecting>books (more info?)

At a tag sale today, for $3.50 I picked up the following
copy of the Meditations of Marcus Aurelius:

The Emperor Marcus Antoninus. His Conversation With
Himself. Together With the Preliminary Discourse of the
Learned Gataker. As Also, the Emperors Life, Written by
Monsieur Dacier, and Supported by the Authorities Collected
by Dr. Stanhope. To which is added the Mythological Picture
of Cebes the Theban, &c. Translated into English from the
Respective Originals by Jeremy Collier, London, 1701,
printed for Richard Sare.

All calf or leather. Unfortunately, the spine cover is
missing and the front and back boards are detached, but in
good condition otherwise. The three sided gilt is worn.
The binding of the pages is still tight.

One of the best finds I have ever had.
