Deja Vu

Having just read Stargazer books three and four, I had the feeling that I
had read something like this before. When I got to the end of four, it
reminds me of The Valiant. Is this book being split into many parts by
using different areas of it? In case anyone asks I do not read spoilers as
it spoils my enjoyment of the books.
