Up for auction is a complete 2 volume set of Israfel: The Life And Times Of
Edgar Allan Poe by Hervey Allen In Two Volumes & published by the George H.
Doran Company in 1927 (2nd edition). Volume 1 is without a dust jacket. The
books measure approximately 6.5" x 9.5", are 932 pages in length as a set,
have numerous plates/illustrations, have gilt top edges, & have burgandy
hardcovers with gilt lettering on the spine/front cover. Volume 1 is a
solid/clean tight copy in fine minus (FN-) condition with a little
top/bottom edge shelf wear, a hint of dustsoiling to the bottom outside
edges of the bottom right corner, & several interior pages that have some
neat/unobtrusive underlining/margin notes. Volume 2 is a solid/clean/tight
copy in very fine minus (VF-) with a little shelf wear, a hint of
dustsoiling to the bottom outside edges of the bottom right corner, & some
yellow dustshadowing/staining to the inside covers & 1st/last blank pages
from the dustjacket flaps. Volume 2 has it's original jacket & it is good
plus (GD+) condition with wear/tear, small edge pieces out, light foxing,
yellowing, & some staining.
