Archived from groups: alt>books>anne-rice (more info?)

I am trying to collect all of Anne's books in hardback first editions, but I
am having trouble with some of the terms:
bookclub edition?
second printing before publication?
1st reprint?

If anyone can help me identify what is required for a true first edition, I
would be very appreciative. Thanks!

Catherine Bailey

All of Anne's books are First Edition. It's the printing you are looking for.
You want the first printing. Book Club editions are worthless. They are printed
in smaller format, using very inexpensive paper. I have a first printing,
signed Queen of the Damned and it was worthless.

So, when collecting, you are looking for First Printing. When an author updates
a book, only then does it change to a second edition.

Interesting, Victoria.

Out of curiosity, do you know what author's have updated their books? What are
the titles?

I can't imagine Anne rewriting IWTV.

Thanks,

Darryl

I've had mine since... 1973, was it?
It seems so tame now. In the 70s it was a real shocker.
