This guy writes some stuff you may be interested in.

http://astro.isi.edu/games/

He seems to have grown up reading Asimov's essays, and is now
writing his own. Try them, you may like them.

Thanks, as a matter of fact, I do enjoy them. Smile

I also enjoy reading this newsgroup, as one might guess from the
essays.

Not only did I grow up reading Asimov's essays, but for a long time,
they were the *only* essays I read. So that by the time I started
writing science essays of my own, that's the way I thought they were
*supposed* to be written: personal anecdote, historical discussion of
scientific topic, and concluding remark. Now, of course, I know
there are other styles and structures, but I'm afraid I'm too far in
to change easily.

Thanks very much for the kind words.

The one's I've read so far *have* been good. Cool!

So are you gonna talk to Gordon Van Gelder at F&SF?
It would be awesome for them to have a regular science column again --
they've been doing only around 4 a year Sad

If people really think there is a chance of them wanting a regular
column, I would be happy to do one. I'm a little doubtful, though,
about the desirability of an Asimov clone--even an acceptable one.
