That's obvious because your comment just flew right over my head. My
television watching is limited to Jeopardy (game show) and USAsian
Football. Sob, but the pro bowl was last night and there won't be any
real football again until August. And whatever the hubby is flipping
his way through with the remote control, I tend not to pay attention
as he changes the channel faster than I can figure out the plot.

I'll keep the original, he's cuddley and spoils me rotten. After 25
years we toddle along together very well. Except for his love of the
tube and that works out well enough. Currently, he's watching a rerun
of "West Wing" while I'm visiting abroad. Besides, he has to put up
with a wife who always has a book in her hands.

Which reminds me: it was a very pleasant discovery (upon perusing* the
map of the Village) to find that my back door affords me a very
pleasant view over the Green. I had wondered what all those odd
noises were during the summer, but hadn't got around to opening it to
find out. It's a good job I haven't got any windows there, isn't
it...?
(*can you peruse a map? Now that I think about it, I'm not sure you
can, really.)

There's a picture in our hall at home which reads:
"Be prepared for the unexpected with Kevlar fishnet stockings".
Beetle and the Firedrake can vouch for this, as can the PostPerson when
she re-surfaces.

I've got six balls of cotton and two balls of what feels like wool but
the label's so old it doesn't say. They came out of the sewing box my

On the other hoof: Kevlar is degraded by sunlight, so they'd really
only be useful to the Children of the Night?

I've been thinking about what we want but it keeps coming down to a
staging post for ordering NTSC DVDs of The Muppet Show (since Elizabeth
already supports my Girardeineli <sp> chocolate habit). This would have
to wait until later since we currently owe money to the landscapers (we
have grass not weeds!), the Inland Revenue (probate done at last) and
are going to be re-doing our roof rather sooner than expected owing to
next door wanting to do his. It's a lot easier to do both halves of a
semi at once so it's going to get done this year rather than in a couple
of years time.
Send me your address and I'll pop a couple of balls over to you when I
post Elizabeth's toffee (which I'm going to buy more of this week since
I have no idea where I put the last lot).

This depends on how quickly the executors and the solicitors involved
handle things, plus around six weeks for the Inland Revenue to make
their initial assessment. The Revenue are, on the whole, frighteningly
efficient, and if you're fair with them, they'll be fair with you. They
won't show favouritism, but they will tell you what breaks you're
entitled to, and how to go about getting them.

If the kids did eat it then I want to know where they're hiding the
wrappers. The usual place is behind the sofa and all that's behind
there is the normal selection of bits of plastic tat from the front of
comics, crayons and cat hair.

Oh, good, as I have a box that is slowly filling up with various bits
and pieces, including a four pack box of the brownie mix. There are some
Ghirardelli squares, mint, caramel, chocolate and orange filled, and
some other stuff, interesting candybars I have found-the easter candies
should be around soon, and I want to get some snickers easter eggs to
include. If you like caramel, peanuts and chocolate together these will
make you swoon (it tastes like a caramel sauce and peanuts over
chocolate ice cream sundae). Much better than the usual Snickers bars,
but don't ask me why. I have had friends tell me not to ever give them
anymore, as they included something in them that totally destroys any
self control as far as eating them is concerned. And does Harry want
anymore of the Brach's Royals?
