It just occurred to me that I haven't really posted anything here in a
while. I've been reading fairly regularly (I'm actually all caught up
- no unread posts left) but not responding much. This is because Tiya
has been lax in her Brute Squad duties lately, and my school is
driving me sane.

Administration swears it'll be fixed tomorrow.

Of course, they've been saying that every day for the past week.

Basically what happened is that they decided to change my schedule.
My five underpopulated classes were to be condensed into 2 regular
sized classes, and I was to add 3 other classes to relieve
overcrowding in other rooms. This was fine, in theory. What happened
was that they added the three other classes, but didn't change the
schedules of the students in my original 5. This means that for the
past week, I've had 8 classes to teach during 6 class periods. Now
even the non-math-majors in the crowd can see how that doesn't work
terribly well. By my contract I'm only supposed to have classes
during 5 periods of the day, so it's breaking my contract to have
students coming to my classes 6 periods, not to mention the fact that
I'm sure they're not supposed to have two different classes in my room
at the same time (which is currently happening during 2 class
periods). I'm lucky that the overall number of students isn't all
that high, or there would have been some serious temper tantrums
thrown by now (yes, by me).

So I've been a little busy.

If any of the other Brutes want to swing by and glare at
administration to get them going, I wouldn't object...

I don't get paid enough for this kind of nonsense.

On the bright side, some of my new classes include students who have,
at some point in the past few years, actually passed a math class.
This is a nice change.

Actually, this brute has temporarily transformed himself into
misterSparkles for the expressed purpose of lighting a fire under
the Engineering department to get off their collective buttocks
and get the blasted code working since delivery date is in 2
days...
