My apologies to both groups. Apparently I have an overly-excitable fan
named "Chris Barker" who seems to wish to spread the word about a book
I have for auction on eBay. Mr. Barker is no doubt a well-meaning
individual (if a bit thick); and likely failed to read the appropriate
FAQs.

I have sent Mr. Barker an e-mail asking that he curb his boundless
enthusiasm regarding my work and to attempt to condict himself with
more decorum in the future.

Cheers,

John

You seem keen to avoid answering this post, so I'll post it again:

According to any dictionary, as if one need be referenced, a hyperbole
is meant to be a rhetorical statement which is extravagant and
obviously exaggerated. By no stretch of the imagination could your
claim to own stocks in ISOMEDIA be deemed that; indeed, you
calculatingly contrived your claim to possess an aura of authenticity,
because you wanted to deter me from complaining to ISOMEDIA about your
abusive internet practises.

But let's assume for the sake of argument that it was a 'hyperbolic'.
Please address these issues:

1) Why didn't the Legal Counsel at ISOMEDIA believe your comments to be

hyperbolic? He telephoned you at home and emailed you to stop making
false claims, and on two other occasions, he categorically accused you
of making false claims. Clearly ISOMEDIA believed you lied rather than
'made a hyperbolic'.

2) If you were just making 'a hyperbolic', why didn't you own up to
this one year ago? Why string things out until the very point where you

were coincidentally proven to have made a false claim by several third
parties before admitting to the 'hyperbolic?'

3) Kevin L O'Brien first claimed that he had received emails from
ISOMEDIA which allegedly cleared you of having made false claims. He
then claimed that he had not in fact received these emails when the
Legal Counsel denied ever having heard from him, and said that you had
received them. However, the Legal Counsel also denies this. Now that
you and O'Brien are owning up to the original false claim, by trying to

dismiss it as ' a hyperbolic', what about these alleged emails that
O'Brien claims one of you received? Are these also false claims, or
were they also 'hyperbolics?'

4) Just for clarity sake, please would you tell us what the precise
difference between a lie and a rhetorical statement is?

TTFN,

CB

Did you just start this up AGAIN after saying you'd stop if three people
asked you to (and at least three people promptly did).

I understand you have issues with these guys, but - ENOUGH ALREADY!

The only people who really care about this business are those directly
involved. Since this is a public forum, it is SO not the place for this.
Nor do I feel that your posts are actually achieving anything except to make
us innocent bystanders upset.

If you have issues with John Pelan, please take them up with John Pelan, if
you have issues with Kevin L O'Brien then please take them up with Kevin L
O'Brien. Please leave the rest of us out of it.

If three people have previously asked you to stop, may I be the fourth
voice. I have no personal stake in the matter, I just want this newsgroup
to continue as it has been before - a thought-provoking place to discuss
Lovecraftian fiction.

I wish you well, I myself have no argument with you, I just want you to take
this argument somewhere where I am not.

Kind Regards
Dave

PS If I may make so bold as to anticipate your response to this message; I
don't CARE whether they lied or not, because the issue is not one that
affects me. I understand that you DO care, and I understand that you are
hurting about this, but please - talk to the people concerned in private and
leave it off this forum.
