Went to FOL sale at town about 30 miles away and due to a meeting was
there 2 hours after opening. It was as most FOL I've been to
disappointing. The has a special section of "Cheaper Than On the
Internet" where they had gone out to ABE and priced some Texanna/State
history some 10-15 dollars less than an ABE prices which they
proudly quoted with no regard to condition. Everything else was
picked over and 90% was book club.

The nice find.

Fine with Fine DJ U.S. 1st of _Seven Years in Tibet_.

The disappointments but I got them any way:

Ernest Gann's _Fate is the Hunter_ 2nd printing. (like Gann having
been a pilot for a time).

Andrew Vachss's first novel _Flood_ in 1st fine DJ but EX-Library. (I
like Vachss and would have liked a nice 1st for my collection).

The minor brag:

Signed 1st of Chuck Yeager's _Press On_ for a dollar.

They had 4 Dick Francis 1st's but they were resent titles so I ignored
them. My wife got excited about a Naval Institute edition of _Hunt for
Red October_ until I pointed out it was the 37th printing.

So I guess it was ok for spending 4 dollars.
