his rescue, Aslan expressed the opinion that Peter could successfully

of them conversing, so would have been the only time Aslan could have
expressed his opinion about Peter's leadership abilities to Edmund. >> Stay informed about: The Famous Edmund Aslan Talk |

After their talk, Aslan tells Edmund's siblings that there was no need to
talk further about what was past (i.e. Edmund's collaboration with the White
Witch). However, IMHO, Aslan should have asked Edmund to provide Peter with
all the intel he had on the White Witch and her allies (such as her stoning
wand, which appears to require contact with its subject). Edmund was the
only one of the four to have close contact with the witch. >> Stay informed about: The Famous Edmund Aslan Talk |

There was no need. Even the beavers said at the beginning that not many
went into the Witch's castle and came back out alive. They knew about
the statues.
And granted, this one was in the movie, not the book. But the kids
arrive at the badger's home and find all the stone figures. And the fox
explains that this is what happens to the enemies of the witch. So,
clearly, the animals knew what caused it. Anybody could have told the
kids.
The issue remains. How do you fight somebody with that power? You just
have to keep trying. >> Stay informed about: The Famous Edmund Aslan Talk |

Edmund certainly found a way! He simply broke the witch's wand!

When Edmund is coronated, Aslan calls him "Edmund The Just", an
adjective which would not be immediately apparent. I therefore believe
that Edmund must have expressed a deep interest in justice while talking
to Aslan after his resuce. >> Stay informed about: The Famous Edmund Aslan Talk |

The conversation between them was a device whereby Edmund was forgiven his
treason, deception, and selfishness, and was reconciled to the good again.
He regained his old self.
This showed that Aslan (Christ) knew about the human condition intimately,
and that no one could sin so badly but that they could be forgiven and
redeemed, etc. Biblically, "Though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be
as white as snow." (Isaiah 1:1
What they talked about is private (as Lewis depicts) and ultimately
unimportant to the allegory -- *that* they could talk, and be reconciled,
is the point.

Before the battle, Edmund said that Aslan believed that Peter could lead the
army, implying that Aslan told Edmund at some point of his confidence in
Peter. Since on screen, I did not hear Aslan tell Edmund of his confidence in
Peter, I figured that he likely did so during their private talk.
At the coronation, Aslan proclaimed Edmund to be "King Edmund The Just", right
out of the blue. Since Edmund had just become King, I wondered how Aslan
could possibly know that he would be just, unless Edmund expressed a deep
interest in justice to Aslan. Since I did not hear Edmund do so on screen, I
figured that he likely did so during their private talk. >> Stay informed about: The Famous Edmund Aslan Talk |

I'll admit that I haven't seen the movie. However, isn't it more likely
that the writers, by incorporating that title, were attempting (however
clumsily) to incorporate one of Lewis' original ideas from the book,
rather than that they hid something minor from the audience? After all,
if Aslan is somewhat the same character in the book as in the movie,
then there is much that He knows but does not ordinarily say.
