I don't think there has been anything published in books -- unless of
course you count David Day's books, which are infamous for containing
information that is not the created by any Tolkien, but is rather the
result Mr Day's own sub-creative efforts
Then there's the parody, /Bored of the Ring/, which is of course a
tribute, but hardly in the normal realm of fan fiction. The same would
be the case with the AFT/RABT E-book at

Apart from that, I would be very surprised if you were not able to
easily find Middle-earth fan fiction at the various fan fiction sites
such as e.g. <www.fanfiction.net>
This site was mentioned in an article earlier, and it seems to focus on
the fan fiction aspect of fandom, and they may be able to help you even
