Does anyone know any good Tolkien fan fiction that has been
published? Not necessarily as a book, but maybe in a website?

I've been away from this group for a while now--but here's a good
archive for Tolkien fanfic:

Stories of Arda
http://www.storiesofarda.com/index.asp

You will find the majority of fanfic there to be "family-friendly"
and, for the most part "canon-compliant" unless clearly labeled as AU
(alternate universe). And the quality of the stories is much higher
than what you'd find on, say ff.net.

I have some stories there myself, under the name of Dreamflower.

I don't think there has been anything published in books -- unless of
course you count David Day's books, which are infamous for containing
information that is not the created by any Tolkien, but is rather the
result Mr Day's own sub-creative efforts Wink

Then there's the parody, /Bored of the Ring/, which is of course a
tribute, but hardly in the normal realm of fan fiction. The same would
be the case with the AFT/RABT E-book at
<http://flyingmoose.org/tolksarc/book/book.htm>

Apart from that, I would be very surprised if you were not able to
easily find Middle-earth fan fiction at the various fan fiction sites
such as e.g. <www.fanfiction.net>

This site was mentioned in an article earlier, and it seems to focus on
the fan fiction aspect of fandom, and they may be able to help you even
further:

Valid e-mail is <troelsfo(a)gmail.com>
Please put [AFT], [RABT] or 'Tolkien' in subject.

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided
into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from,
and (d) rocks.
