Actually, that raises an interesting point that I hope's not been discussed
already.

How many of you read or entered Ray's (and the Friday Nighters, of course)
worlds in the right order? Or at the right point, if you prefer. I was
very lucky to have stumbled upon Magician as a young teen rather than one of
the following books, and for that matter I think was probably (although this
depends on how much value you place on one series over the other) doubly
lucky to have not discovered the Empire books before reading the Midkemian
side of the coin.

But with Jacco's post, I must confess that I now find myself desperately
wondering what it would have been like to have my first introduction to
these two worlds take place from the Kelewan side of the rift before reading
the Kingdom books. Would I instead feel more connected to the Acoma and the
other houses of the Tsurani empire rather than to the Kingdom and her
defenders? Probably not, since the Tsurani were the invaders in all of
this, but nevertheless the thought does inspire me. Hmph. I guess I'll
never really know now!

Well, considering I started with Magician, at that point in time
Silverthorn hadn't yet been published I guess that's the right order...
