flesh.

I think he is truly evil.

Bilbo v Frodo - If you read The Hobbit first, then LOTR, was anyone else really annoyed that Bilbo quickly left the scene. I was about 13 I think, and can remember being really annoyed. We'd got to know and love Bilbo, and suddenly there's some other 'hero' to get to..

Why Frodo failed - It occurred to me recently why Frodo failed to end his task, and could not bring himself to destroy the One Ring. As Gandalf explained, the rings strengthen the power of those ho have the will to dominate others. Now Frodo explicitly used the Ring....

Frodo's real name? - Is it known what Frodo Baggin's real name was? The names in the books are translations from Westron into Frankish or Gothic. Tolkien in App. F writes that "Sam"'s real name is Banazir (Ban), and "Merry"'s (Meriadoc): Kalimac.
