Speaking of Gambit-as-Death, was anyone else disappointed by his
Death powers seemingly having nothing to do with Gambit's powers?

They could have tapped into that New Sun potential and have created
a very effective death: flight, teleportation, clairvoyance, superhuman
strength and speed, causing things to explode or disintegrate with a
glance. He'd know where you are, go there, and then you'd cease to
exist, that sounds pretty death-like to me.

Oh, I don't know. His powers were originally the generation of
explosive energy. Now he's got gas powers. There's really too many
jokes to be made out of that.

Seriously though, yes I am, but no more than my disappointment of
Milligan's entire run.
